Holme Hall Golf Club – Ladies Section

Ladies Open Am-Am – 9th June 2009

Ladies of Holme Hall Golf Club hosted their annual open am-am on Tuesday 9th June 2009.  A total of 136 ladies equating to 34 teams played a Stableford competition off ¾ handicap.  The competition required two out of the four players scoring on every hole and all four members of the team needing to score on holes 9 and 18.

Comments passed back to the club once again related to the superb condition of the course, the slickness of the greens, a superb half-way house followed by a very tasty meal and desert after the game, all culminating in a thoroughly enjoyable day.

S Leaning, J Love, S Wynne, R Robertshaw, S Brown, J Kennedy and D Kyrnyckyj were the seven ladies successful in the two’s competition, all taking 15 golf balls as their prize.

Prizes in the main competition were awarded for those placed 1 – 6 and are as follows.

In 1st place with a score of 13 under par (93 points) was the team comprising of S Bassindale, S Wynne, M Jacobs and J Love representing Holme Hall and Ashby Decoy.

Taking second place with 92 points representing Holme Hall, Woollaton Park, Gainsborough and Bessacarr was S Brown, T Kirwin, M Hjelte and K Winfield.

A team from Forest Pines – J Marshall, G Hardie, L Over and C Waller found themselves taking the third prize with 90 points.

Taking fourth place with 89 points was J Payling, H Hempsall, C Ireland and J Crooks representing Blankney, Lincoln and Woodhall Spa.

In fifth place with a score of 88 points (a back nine of 45 points), from Bawtry was J Hudson, B Griffiths, P Young and E Seal.

The sixth prize went to Holme Hall and Forest Pines players, namely J Tong, L Herberts, H Scruton and Jenny Swain with 88 points (back nine of 43).

The winning team thanked Holme Hall for holding this event, for all the effort and hard work that had gone into the day and for their hospitality.

Lady Captain Irene Glennie thanked all those involved in the organisation of the day, paying special thanks to the people that manned the desk, the starter and all those involved in ensuring the half-way house was well stocked throughout the day for the players.
